Platform
stilettos combine the best of two worlds: the platform shoe and the
stiletto heel. Platform shoes feature thick soles made of cork, plastic
or rubber. People have worn platform shoes for extra height for hundreds
of years.
Platform stilettos take the thick sole from a platform shoe and keep it on the front, but add a stiletto in the back. As recently as 5 years ago the stilettos were only 3 to 5 inches high. However thanks to a few select designers they now have as much as 8 inches of height.
Platform stilettos come in many styles and colors. You can own more than one pair to accentuate the same outfit. Also look for different colors and textures when you shop.
