warn that the shoes can actually damage women’s' feet. Of course,
people have always sacrificed comfort for style, but you should know
what you're getting into.
The Web site of the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society says that shoes with high spike heels can cause "crowding of the toes and increased pressure." In addition, the Mayo Clinic warns that high heels can create unnatural pressure points in the body.
However, it's not all bad news for women wearing high spike heels. It turns out that women who wear high heels after childbirth may receive health benefits. The pelvic muscles that lose strength during childbirth get a workout when high heels are worn.
