Heelless
stilettos are proof that just when women thought stilettos couldn’t
get any more uncomfortable, they did.
Fashion designer Marc Jacobs, along with Manolo Blahnik, recently
introduced heelless stilettos. The introduction of these shoes has
caused quite a stir.
Simply looking at these shoes causes a debate among many women. Some
claim they will never wear them; others think they are fresh and new
and would like to try them.
Podiatrists have already spoken out against such shoes, saying they
can cause serious back and knee problems. A spokesman for the designers
of these shoes has also said that these are not the kinds of shoes
that any woman should wear for more than a few minutes at a time.
One of the designers said he believes these shoes are attractive
because they force the woman to walk in a way that makes her look
“quite dainty.” Although many people consider these shoes
to be brand new, the fact is that heelless stilettos were first brought
onto the fashion scene in Italy in the 1950s. The style never quite
caught on at that time.
